Many years after his passing, and following numerous requests from breeders worldwide, we are delighted to make VIGO CECE‘s genetics available once again through ICSI.
As a son of QUAPRICE, VIGO CECE currently ranks 34th in the WBFSH Stallion Rankings, despite having only around 200 offspring of international competition age. This remarkable ranking is a testament to the exceptional quality and consistency of his progeny.
This decision follows careful consideration. In recent years, OPU (Ovum Pick-Up) and ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) technologies have advanced significantly, offering improved efficiency while ensuring greater welfare for donor mares. Year after year, VIGO CECE continues to confirm the outstanding quality of his offspring, with numerous descendants competing successfully in the world’s most prestigious 5* Grand Prix events and Championships.
At France Étalons, we strongly believe in a responsible, thoughtful and well-considered use of ICSI as a means of preserving and enhancing rare genetics. In our view, the use of VIGO CECE through ICSI is fully justified, both because of the scarcity of his frozen semen and the exceptional value of his bloodlines.
With the same philosophy in mind, we encourage breeders to make informed breeding decisions that preserve genetic diversity while maintaining the highest standards of care and respect for their mares.
To ensure responsible management of this rare genetic resource, only a limited number of ICSI sessions will be organised each year through our selected partner laboratories:
- Avantea – Equine Assisted Reproduction (Italy)
- Embryotools (Spain)
- Genetech Europe (Germany & United Kingdom)
- Equiception (Netherland)
