EXCELSIOR inherits an exceptional heritage, descending from two generations of Grand Prix mares and an Olympic sire. As one of the early offspring of ERMITAGE KALONE, he shows the stallion’s hallmark qualities: excellent technique, great respect, significant scope, and striking color. On the dam’s side, CACACHA VH SCHAECK competed successfully up to 3* Grand Prix level with the very young Max Sebrechts. While simultaneously used for breeding, she notably produced LIKE A DIAMOND VAN HET SCHAECK, winner at 5* Grand Prix level with over €600,000 in prize money alongside Marlon Zanotelli. EXCELSIOR’s second dam is the outstanding FORTIS FORTUNA, herself a 1.60 m Grand Prix winner and also the dam of several top performers, including: JUST THE MUSIC (1.60 m GP, €190,000 in prize money), B52 F Z (1.50 m GP) and CIEMUSIC Z (1.50 m GP)
This is undoubtedly one of the strongest maternal lines in the BWP studbook, consistently producing top performers across generations, such as FUNKY MUSIC, EL TORREO DE MUZE, BRETLING DU PARADIS Z, QUARTS-MUSIK, and E-MUZE YEK.
Approved by the BWP studbook at the age of 3, EXCELSIOR successfully followed the stallion competition circuit at 4, 5, and 6 years old At the same time, he has already enjoyed strong demand as a breeding stallion, being widely appreciated by Belgian breeders during his 5-year-old season
